Phil Baroni Denied Use of the Juice

But he was wrong, so says the Califonia State Athletic Commission as they handed the NY Bad Ass a nice suspension over his testing positive after the EliteXC Strikeforce show. I can’t imagine that this is coming as a shock to many people. Looking at his body, his notoriously bad endurance, and his less than stable emotional state, it’s not surprising that he’s dabbled in steroids.
What is interesting is how he addressed the subject during an interview with CBS Sportsline before his fight with Shamrock.
CBS: Since the fight is for a title in California, you’ll be required to provide samples to the commission before and after the fight. Do you feel the results of those tests will prove Shamrock’s accusations wrong?
PB: No, because I’ve been tested in Nevada and I’ve been tested in New Jersey. I mean yes and no, because he’s still going to say what he’s going to say. But people are going to say whatever they want to say. They see a guy that trains real hard and makes sacrifices and watches his diet and gets in a little better shape than some other guys — maybe by good genetics — and they have something to say.
Let’s not even waste time on this subject. There’s a fight to talk about. I don’t even want to entertain what he says. Who cares what he thinks? He’s already fabricating excuses as to why he’s going to lose. These are the reasons why when I knock him out he’s going to say he lost. That’s the way I see it.
Phil, you’re a talented athlete, you don’t need the juice bro.
