Couture Doesn’t Win Back-To-Back
…at least since 2003. Randy, aka The Natural or Captain America, is and always has been a great champion and one of the most talented fighters the sport has ever seen. But what most fans may not be aware of is that he has had problems stringing victories back-to-back. His pattern: Beats Tito Ortiz in September 2003 and loses next fight to Vitor Belfort in January ‘04. Comes back to beat Belfort in their rematch, then loses to Chuck Liddell at UFC 52. Comes back to beat Mike Van Arsdale then follows that up with another loss to Liddell. Since that loss, he went on the beat Tim Sylvia last time out. Now if history repeats itself, it’s not looking too good against Gabriel Gonzaga.
This isn’t an article meant to take anything away from Randy as a fighter, he’s one of the greats. It’s just a little tidbit of info that you might find interesting, a little food for thought.

I predict his win one, lose one streak will continue with his fight against Gonzaga

This is possibly the dumbest thing I’ve ever read. Randy started his career with 4 consecutive wins. He then had 4 more wins in a row after a few losses. He’s also had back-to-back wins twice since 2001.

2001 was a long time ago….
