Frank Mir’s WEC Pre-Fight Analysis

UFC Fighter Frank MirFormer UFC Heavyweight Champion Frank Mir will be in the announcer’s booth this evening commentating the WEC event.  OC Register was able to get the ex-champion to give his thoughts on each of the night’s fights.  Frank makes no real commitment to predicting winners, instead provides a basic overview of the match-ups.  Such as,

“I think Crunkilton is a little more well rounded where Rob McCullough is, obviously, the better striker, more powerful. If the fight stays on its feet, it definitely favors him (McCullough). Crunkilton is able to do things there also, but I think it will be a little bit easier for him if the fight went to the ground.”

“Chase Beebe is a really good wrestler, and he’s in really good shape. He also has good striking and good Jiu-Jitsu. But Rani Yahya is probably one of the best grapplers in the WEC as far as submission abilities. I think Chase will probably use his wrestling ability to get the fight to the ground. Yahya has real bad standup actually. He just kind of dives at you, takes you down and win the fight that way.”

If you’re looking for in-depth fight analysis, Frank isn’t your man. However if you are not fammilar with many of tonight’s fighters, Frank’s overview is worth a look. Check out the complete analysis here.
