And Still UFC Light Heavyweight Champion
UFC 75, Champion vs. Champion, is in the books and the UFC champion won a decision over the Pride Champion. Quinton Jackson successfully defended his UFC light heavyweight title with a unanimous-decision victory over Pride champion Dan Henderson in London. The fight was a bit lackluster in comparison to Rampage’s and Henderson’s most recent fights where the each scored KOs. Instead, Jackson employed a more methodical approach in controlling the majority of the time on the ground and was more effective with punches down the stretch. Judges scored the bout 49-46 twice and 48-47 for the champion, who improved to 28-6. UFC announcer Mike Goldberg stated time and time again that this was to determine who was the best 205lb fighter in the world. Mike, you may want to consider that there is this guy out there named Shogun who dominated the reigning champ not too long ago.
