UFC Corruption?

Gregg Doyel over at CBS Sports.com has written a really intelligent article (especially for a mainstream media outlet) regarding the current state of the UFC and some of the organization’s possible corruption.  His rants:

For starters, Bisping won the decision over Hamill because (1) the event took place in England, Bisping’s home turf (2) Bisping is more marketable than Hamill.  As the UFC looks to expand their presence to an evergrowing MMA crowd in the UK, having Bisping will only help to serve this agenda.  According to Doyel, when Bisping couldn’t win, the judges did it for him.

And how about the huge discrepancy in pay days for the UFC fighters?  At UFC 74 St. Pierre made $140k while his opponent Josh Koscheck made a measly $10K.  Where’s the equality?  Where is all this PPV, event, and sponsorship money going?  It’s not going to the fighters.

Lastly, how about the double standard for Sobral?  BJ Penn did something similar when he held the choke on  Jens Pulver for far to long at TUF 5?  Obviously Penn is much more marketable than Sobral so they can look the other way on that instance.

    supply and demand.

Bisping out fought Hamil in their UFC 75 rematch. Hamill was impressive and not dominated at all, but he was out performed. The judges got it right. Anybody who knows scoring realizes this. The fact that it was in London didn’t matter. However, everybody knows that in a close fight the decision goes to the hometown boy. I’m out.

Bisping should of never won that fight. He was dominated by hamill all the way. That article was dead on. If Bisping won fair and square why is it that the poll on the UFC main page stated that 90% of the fans said that Hamill should of won. Hmmm let me see, none of us know how the scoring works???? Baloney, that was an unfair call by the judges. As if they could let Bisping lose in his own country. Even Bisping wants a rematch cause
he knows damn well he should of lost. If the UFC can’t be fair then why the hell let people with disabilities compete? The guy works his butt off like any other fighter so he can compete. Why not be fair to him. I think the UFC would gain alot more respect and fans if they were fair. We are starting to see more and more crap like that by the judges. They must be really well payed off to make calls like that. I would be embarassed.
