Josh Burkman Smoked Bud and Did Roids?
This one kind of came to me as a surprise. In an interview with a Canadian newspaper, Burkman openly admitted to drug abuse. He said this about what his life was like when he tried out for season of of The Ultimate Fighter:
“I’m not one to lie. I probably failed every single test they gave me,” Burkman told The Canadian Press from Salt Lake City. “I was smoking weed, I was drinking, I was out of shape so I took steroids. I had a really extreme, crazy personality because I was kind of lost. I didn’t really truly know what I wanted in my life. I just knew that I liked to fight.
“Me being caught with those things was the single best thing that ever happened in my life, because it really truly made me look at myself and what I really wanted. That’s what helped me straighten my life out and get more focused.”
The UFC told him they would take him back if he cleaned up his act. Burkman did and made Season 2 of the show in 2005.
