Ricco Rodriguez on Celebrity Rehab

Friday, January 11th, 2008

Former UFC Champion Ricco Rodriquez has never recovered from his loss to Tim Sylvia ages ago and it looks he’s got some other issues he needs to recover from. Ricco will appear on this season’s VH1 Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew (on tonight). I don’t know if he leaves early or what, but in the video promo for the season they don’t show Ricco even once.

Ricco Rodriquez as a celebrity is a huge stretch. Who in the hell outside of the MMA community would know this guy? Here is Ricco’s Bio as presented on the VH1 website:

Ricco Rodriguez
Born: August 19, 1977

Rodriguez nick named Ricco “Suave” Rodriguez is an American mixed martial arts fighter with a professional MMA record of 26-7-0. He has fought in most of the major fight organizations–UFC, PRIDE, King of the Cage–and was renowned as the UFC Heavyweight Champion. Ricco has a daughter whom he raised as a single dad for two years.

Kendall Grove Admits to Being Stoned During Fights

Wednesday, January 9th, 2008

Kendall Grove is a well known stoner, the likes of Nick Diaz, Joe Rogan, and Eddie Bravo. But damn, according to him he actually fought his first six MMA fights baked. CagePotato.com has an exclusive interview with Kendall that includes Grove as saying:

See, marijuana is a touchy subject. I’m a rock star — I’ve been smoking weed since I was in the 6th grade, I can openly say that. But I’m also clean when I fight. I cut that shit out — I’m a professional. Don’t get me wrong, my first six fights, I fought high, I fought stoned. But when you get to this level, you have to take responsibility. It’s your job. I stop doing that stuff three months out. I just think they blew it way out of proportion. What did they say with Nick Diaz? “Oh, him smoking weed made his pain threshold higher—”

The rest of the interview covers topics such as his current training (which doesn’t seem all that intense), his upcoming fight against Jorge Rivera at UFC 80, what it’s like to deal with Dana White, his thoughts on the next season of The Ultimate Figther and more MMA stuff. Check out the rest of the goods here.

Gina Carano Pics - Is She Hot?

Tuesday, January 8th, 2008

A lot of you guys think female MMA fighter Gina Carano is hot. Personally I just don’t see it. Maybe she’s just a little too beefy for me. Regardless, it’s all about you guys. So here are some photos of Gina from her new role as “Crush” on NBC’s American Gladiators.

Tito Ortiz & His Giant Mellon on the Red Carpet

Monday, January 7th, 2008

I know it was never in doubt, but damn, check out the size of Tito’s cranium in comparison to Jenna’s in this video clip. Here rawvegas.tv catches up with Tito Ortiz and Jenna Jameson at Tao in Las Vegas to discuss Tito’s role on The Apprentice as well has acting career. Advice to Tito, focus on your fighting career buddy before you’re forced into retirement due to complete inactivity.

Currently UFC lightheavy champ Quinton Jackson and TUF contestant Troy “Rude Boy” Mandeloniz get a few seconds of air time as well. Of note: Tito mentions that he may be back in the UFC on May 5th.

Vitor Belfort Shaves His Head

Sunday, January 6th, 2008

Here’s footage of UFC/Pride/Cage Rage veteran Vitor Belfort getting his head shaved. I have no idea why I watched this video in its entirety, but guilty I am. Maybe it was the night vision filming that had me intrigued.
