Sanchez vs Fitch at UFC 74

The fight card for UFC 76 keeps getting better.  Just announced today, Diego “Nightmare” Sanchez will face Jon Fitch at 170lbs. Both of these guys are solid contenders for the Welterweight title. Diego is coming off his very first loss after winning 16 straight and Fitch is on fire right now winning his last 13 fights. Fitch is an agressive fighter, we can expect a more exciting fight to look forward to than Diego’s last outting against Josh Koscheck.

Some words from Diego about this fight:

“I took this fight as soon as it was offered to me. Jon is a great challenge but I want to face the best and I want to get back into the elite group so I can get back in line for the title…after a lot of praying I feel that my power is back again. I cannot wait to step back into the Octagon, where I will show everyone that the new win streak has begun and that I do not need a warm up fight, which is why I am facing a really good fighter like Fitch. I will take care of business and then proceed down the line.”

And Fitch’s comments:

“Been putting in some good work getting ready for my fight with diego sanchez at UFC 76. It sucks that I have to wait till sept to fight, but its ok, i love training. Id be doing the same thing even if i wasnt getting paid. I have a lot of time to get ready for this fight and i will have pleanty of new tricks up my sleave for my opponent.”

Also on the UFC 76 card is Chuck Liddell vs. Keith Jardine and Mauricio “Shogun” Rua vs. Forrest Griffen. You can check out the full fight card here.
