Geez, after the bitching and moaning this guy did after his loss to Amir Sadollah at last night’s The Ultimate Fighter Finale, it’s a bit of a surprise how easily he admitted to tapping post fight. Obviously he had a chance to look at the video and knew there was no use in denying it further. UFC.com has a short video clip of CB getting interviewed after the fight where he says he made a mistake and needs to learn some more jiu-jitsu.
Recently UFC’s Dana White stated that this Thursday he is going to make an announcement that will rock the world of mixed martial arts. There has been plenty of speculation as to what this earth shattering announcement will be, but for now we only have confirmation as to what this big announcement won’t be.
What Dana did have to reveal in this CNBC interivew that the UFC is coming out with a new line of action figures. Brock Lesnar joins the conversation and Dana is, well, Dana.
Damn this guy is a douche bag. I thought Dana White and Rich Franklin did a good job of putting this chump in place back in 2007, but the EliteXC show on CBS has brought new life to his ranting. Leave it to Fox news to incorporate terrorism into a mixed martial arts story.
Last night 20/20 had a segment dedicated to kids and their involvement in mixed martial arts. It’s a fairly balanced and typical MMA story with plenty of UFC clips of fighters getting KO’d and the token politician speaking out against the sport. What’s great is to see the next generation of fighter. Imagine the quality of fighters we’ll see in the next decade when we have 20 year old mixed martial artist s with years with 15 years of training under their belt.
Let’s be honest, young children have been taking karate lessons for decades and mixed martial arts is just another form of self defense. For those who have a problem with kids participating in MMA, as 20/20’s John Stossel would say, “give me a break.”
In another installment of MMA Fix on Raw Vegas.tv, Dave Farra catches up with former Pride champ Wanderlei Silva during a training session for his upcoming fight at UFC 84. There is some good footage of Wandi doing some endurance training with his nose taped shut and breathing through only a snorkel. Now that Silva is off the roid, he needs to step up the intensity naturally. I give him points for originality and resourcefulness.
Wanderlei also covers his thought on his match against Keith Jardie as well as reflects on his fight with Chuck Liddell.
Here we go, the saga continues. All of this back and forth will soon come to a halt after UFC 84, but for now UFC fighter Tito Ortiz and UFC president Dana White continue to show how little respect they have for one another. Here is 9 minutes of Tito speaking his mind, 100% without fear of any UFC backlash. I can’t imagine that after this kind of tirade that Ortiz will ever step into the octagon again after UFC 84. At least he’s going out swinging.
